Hello, my name is Axel Schade and I'm the Chef / Owner of Restaurant Zest on Staten Island, NY. Born and raised in Dresden, Germany where I started my culinary education as a pastry Apprentice. In the early 90's I came to New York City to study and apply kitchen management and advanced cooking techniques. I have been a Chef for over 15 years and my attention to classical techniques is equaled by my passion for finding the freshest, highest quality ingredients from local organic producers.
